The Rolex Middle Sea Race is renowned as one of the world’s most beautiful yacht races. The circular course evokes strong emotions within every sailor who experiences its charms. This year, the 37th edition which started on Saturday, 22 October proved no exception, and added yet another epic adventure to the legend of the race.

The start of the race is a truly magical scene as more than 100 elegant yachts all set out of the Grand Harbour which is one of the most iconic settings in world of sailing. Thousands flock to the harbour area to witness the magnificent start from the various viewing points in the fortified cities of Valletta, Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua, such as the Upper Barrakka Gardens and Fort Saint Angelo. Sue Nani our Sales and Operations manager was lucky enough to be on site to experience the start from the vantage point – Fort St. Angleo.

The cannons of the Saluting Battery, high above the water, add to the pageantry afloat as flame, smoke and noise signal the beginning of the race for 107 teams representing 25 different nations. This venue also proves to be one of the most astounding venues where’re dinners and receptions may be held for groups during their Incentive or Conference here on the island.

Groups can also book a variety of venues exclusively should they wish to treat their clients to this unforgettable experience. We at 3sixtymeetings can help organize one of the most memorable events for your group, whether they are sailing enthusiasts or not.
